How To Be An Advocate On Behalf Of Yourself Or Your Loved Ones Through A Health Challenge

Most of us know next to nothing about being an advocate on behalf of your own health during a health challenge or crisis.  In fact most of us have been trained to be sheep when it comes to dealing with doctors.  That is not safe or wise and will rarely produce the desired result of vibrant health.

I have learned how to navigate health challenges, and how to talk to doctors and how to get what they have to offer and how to get second opinions and sometimes look some more.  Doctors simply practice medicine.  Most of them do the best that they can; and much of the time that simply isn’t good enough.  Certainly not when the quality of your life depends on it or the quality of life of someone you care deeply about.

I will share with you five powerful action steps you can take no matter what the health challenge you are faced with that can help you do better through out the process then if you don’t take these steps.

 


1. Do your homework.

2. Don’t assume that whatever the doctor says is true or accurate.

3. Ask more questions

4. Learn to trust your instincts and keep asking those questions

5. Don’t quit.  Don’t give up.  Persist.

6. Assign an Ally.  Someone you trust to see you through the process

7. Learn to pray, meditate, and receive love
